Two SIS Teams Qualify for Business Plan Competition

The Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation (AEAF) announced Dec. 8, 2016, that two groups of students from Sheridan Intermediate School will advance to the final round of the 12th annual Youth Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S.) for Arkansas Business Plan Competition.

“The two teams placed in the top 25 out of 142 submissions and earned the opportunity to sell their products at Park Plaza Mall in January,” said Gifted and Talented Facilitator Sherri DeSoto. “Dog Deli will be selling varieties of dog treats. Spirit Baggers will be selling upcycled team shirts made into Spirit Bag tote bags.”

According to DeSoto, the Spirit Baggers will also compete among only 10 teams at the Y.E.S. showcase for a special Innovation Award.

The 2017 Y.E.S. for Arkansas Business Expo will be held 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2016, at Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock.

AEAF will announce the winners in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony at Park Plaza Mall. Cash prizes, souvenir medals and a school trophy will be awarded to the top teams.
