The Sheridan Intermediate School Media Center promotes student literacy by providing students, teachers and parents a variety of supportive curriculum based materials that foster a lifetime desire to read, learn, and grow into productive citizens.
About the Library
The Sheridan Intermediate School Library Media Center serves approximately 750 students in 30 classrooms, including Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, the Alternative Learning Center and Special Needs students. Approximately 60 staff members use the Library Media Center to introduce, support and reinforce concepts taught in the classroom.
Students are encouraged to check out books as needed on a daily basis and the Library Media Specialist teaches skill lessons which introduce, review and reinforce library skills, research skills, and internet search concepts. The SIS Library Media Center offers over 10,000 titles and 6 desktop computers which are available for collection searches and research.
Our Library Media Specialist - Mrs. Amy Casey
Mrs. Amy Casey, the Media Specialist/Librarian at the Sheridan Intermediate School Library, has a BSE in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Henderson State University and MSE in Library Media Science from the University of Central Arkansas. Before becoming the Media Specialist/Librarian, Mrs. Casey taught 5th Grade for twelve years.
