The Sheridan Junior High Library Media Specialist will work with teachers and students to provide a variety of materials which will support the curriculum of the school, and foster lifetime habits of reading, learning, good citizenship, and productive use of leisure time.
About the Library
The Sheridan Junior High School Media Center houses over 9,300 titles for a variety of leisure reading and research purposes. The media center currently has six desktop computers and colored printers for student use. The computers are available for library material searches, internet research, word processing, and other electronic projects.The media center is open daily from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Students are welcome to come to the media center before school, during lunch, or after school to check out and return books, work on homework, read magazines, or research using the books or computers.
Our Library Media Specialist:
Mrs. Shannon Archer is the Media Specialist for the SJHS Library/Media Center. She received her MSE in Library Media and Information Specialist in 2002 from Southern Arkansas University and her BSE in Education from the University of Central Arkansas in 1990. She has served as a library media specialist for more than a decade and as an educator for more than 25 years. Mrs. Archer has been employed with the district since 2008.
