Greetings from the Faculty and Staff at East End Intermediate!

As we begin the second month of the New Year, we would like to thank our parents for their continued support. Whether it’s chaperoning field trips, helping out with classroom parties, counting box tops, volunteering at the book fair, or attending awards assemblies you are always there to lend a helping hand and support our students. There is a very high correlation between parental involvement and academic achievement. Thanks so much for your continued support in our children’s education.

Report cards were sent home with students on January 5. Students with perfect attendance and academic achievement during the first semester were recognized at our Awards Assembly on January 17. Having good attendance and working hard are important life skills that students can learn at an early age. Congratulations to all of our students for their success.

We would also like to recognize the following students: Grace Herndon, Olivia Jablonski, Lane Hobbs, Josh Harvison, Gabby Mellor, and Kyla Keary. Grace placed first in the Grant County Spelling Bee and will represent our school at the state finals in March. Olivia, Lane, Josh, Gabby, and Kyla were recently featured on Today’s THV11 morning news where they showcased their product – the “Hold-O-Matic”.  The “Hold-O-Matic” is a writing utensil holder that clips to a purse, bag, or backpack and prevents you from losing your pen or pencil. It can be personalized by allowing the owner to select different colored cords and to add his name with different colored beads. The students were selected to sell their product at the Young Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S) for Arkansas Business Expo at Park Plaza Mall on Friday, January 27.

The hundredth day of school was on January 25. Due to interim assessments, we enjoyed having many special 100-year-old visitors the following day. Some of their pictures are on our school website.
