Mission Statement

The East End Intermediate library media specialist will work with teachers and students to provide a variety of materials which will support the curriculum of the school, and foster lifetime habits of reading, learning, good citizenship, and productive use of leisure time.

About the Library

The EEI Library serves approximately 550 students in 24 classrooms including 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Students also visit the library weekly with their class for library skills lessons. Students are encouraged to visit the library during the free flow schedule to pick up a new book when they finish the one currently checked out. The media center houses approximately 9,400 titles for a variety of leisure reading and research purposes. The media center currently has seven desktop computers and six iPads for library use. These devices are available for students to use for library material searches, internet research, word processing, and electronic projects.

The library is open from 7:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. daily. Students are welcome to check out and return books daily. The computers are available at the teacher’s request for research and/or special projects.
