EEM - Thank you to those who have confirmed your child's participation in tomorrow's NWEA MAP testing. Fortunately, we were able to honor all requested times (8:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.). You may begin dropping off your child 15 minutes prior to the planned start time (7:45 a.m. or 12:45 a.m.). Students are scheduled to take the Reading and Math assessments. Today, we learned we will also be administering the Science assessment next week. If time permits, we will give your child the opportunity to complete the Science assessment tomorrow. These assessments are a baseline for your students academic growth this year, the results will be used by teachers to determine areas of support for your child. LOGISTICS: Pick-up and drop-off will be in the parking lot along Arch Street. Students will enter and exit through the glass doors leading into the cafeteria. In the event a student does not finish, the assessment can be paused and resumed at a later date. We anticipate completing test sessions at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - please plan to pick up your child at the end of their respective testing time. EEM Virtual Families: Wednesday, September 23, 2020 our virtual learners will participate in the new NWEA MAP Growth Assessment (Math & Reading). This assessment replaces the ACT Aspire Interim and will allow us to assess your child's current academic progress. In consideration of your selection of the SSD Virtual Academy, please note: this assessment will be on a day when other students will not be in the building. Last week, Layton Wallace surprised his Social Studies teacher, Mrs. Lewis with this original November 23, 1963 newspaper! The class was reviewing primary sources and Mrs. Lewis was pointing out her classroom collection of original newspapers from historic events in US History. Layton brought this newspaper to add to her collection the next day! Thank you to Layton, and the Wallace family for their kind generosity!
