December 15-Burger King Scholars Program: Scholarship grants range from $1,000 to $50,000 and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service. Apply online here: http://bit.ly/2qlARXR
December 20-Clyde and Thelma Koon Memorial Scholarship-In memory of Superintendent Clyde Koon and 3rd grade teacher Thelma Koon. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior that best meets the following criteria: Possesses a clear Christian testimony and his/her life will demonstrate a vital relationship with Jesus Christ; effectively utilizes God-given talents through service in their church or community; and has at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. December 31- Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Scholarships: The ASHOF awards nine $1,000 scholarships to deserving AR student-athlete seniors. Applicants must be attending an Arkansas college as a freshman the following fall 2020 and must be an essay must be submitted. Only the first 100 essays will be reviewed, so apply early! January 1- Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship: Available for graduating seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and plan to major in vocal/choral music at a four-year institution. The student must also be enrolled in the choral music program at the high school they attend. Essay is required and all applicants are required to attend an audition and interview. January 6-National Wild Turkey Federation Academic Scholarship: Applicants must be a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation or become a member as well as hold a current hunting license. March 13-American Legion Coudret Trust and Garner Trust Scholarships: The American Legion of Arkansas is offering 8 scholarships (4 Coudret Trust and 4 Garner Trust). The Coudret Trust Scholarship ($1,000) is available to students who choose to attend an AR or out of state institution of higher learning. The Garner Trust Scholarship is available to students that will attend an AR college, university, or technical school. Applicants must be children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of American Legionaries.
