Current Scholarship Information
March 12: American Legion Coudret Trust and Garner Trust Scholarships- Offering 8 scholarships to Arkansans that are children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of American Legionnaries in good standing of two or more consecutive years' membership. Selections are based upon American spirit, character, leadership, quality, scholastic endeavor, and basis of need. For all requirements, pick up a copy of the application outside of the counseling center.
March 15: PEO Scholarship- PEO will be offering scholarships to senior girls. Requirements: Transcript; Resume listing honors, activities, and community service hours; Essay outlining future plans and ambitions; Two references. Turn in application packets to Mrs. Fortin.
March 19: Grant County Farm Bureau Scholarship- Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to an agriculture related major or family and consumer science major. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
March 28: AAA Centennial Bank Scholar Program- 10 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to senior student athletes who have at least a 3.0 GPA, 21 on the ACT. Applicants must display good citizenship, display desirable leadership traits, participated in other school activities, and meet NCAA Scholarship rules. Applications can be downloaded here, or picked up outside of the counseling center.
March 29: Beta Sigma Phi Michelle Lunsford Sunshine Scholarship- Given in memory of Michelle Taylor Lunsford. She always but a smile on everyone's face by her kindness and genuine compassion for others. Because of this, an essay of no more than 500 words about acts of kindness and volunteering that are performed in your daily life is required in addition to the application. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
March 29: Shelby Rhodes Memorial Scholarship- One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a SHS senior that has a cumulative 3.5 GPA or a 24 ACT score. Applications are located outside of the counseling center.
March 29: Sheridan Lions Club Leadership Scholarship- Rewards an outstanding student who has demonstrated leadership abilities in both their school and their community, and who plans to pursue a college education. Applicants must have obtained a 21 or above on the ACT. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
March 31: Ralph G. Norman Scholarship - Three $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to AR high school seniors that have a documented learning disability. For information on eligible learning disabilities and to apply, visit http://ldarkansas.org/services/norman-scholarship/
April 1: AR Plant Management Association Scholarship-The Arkansas School Plant Management Association (ASPMA) seeks to promote continued education by offering scholarships to deserving students in recognition of their leadership, scholastic achievement, and civic participation. Any graduating high school senior planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical, or Trade School is eligible to apply. April 1: Hope Memorial English Scholarship- A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student that has attended Sheridan High School for at least two years, and has been accepted to the University of Arkansas. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
April 1: Play4Jarren Foundation Celebration of Life Scholarship- A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an individual in the state of Arkansas whose life has been affected by childhood cancer. This person may have had cancer themselves or had a family member or friend with cancer. April 5: Clay Warrick Memorial Scholarship- One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a SHS senior. No minimum GPA or ACT requirement. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
April 12: Benton Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship-Will award one $1,000 scholarship to a Sheridan High School student. No minimum GPA or ACT score required. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
April 19: The Peggy Allen Memorial Scholarship- The Zeta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will award a $600 scholarship to a senior girl who plans to attend a two-year or four-year college. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
April 22: Student-View Scholarship Program- Offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors. No minimum ACT or GPA is required! Simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area.
Varies: THEA Foundation 2019 Scholarship Competitions- Offering scholarships for students with talent in the areas of visual arts, fashion design, performing arts, spoken word, creative writing, and film. Register online at: www.theafoundation.org.
