Current Scholarship Information
January 31: Discover Student Loans Scholarship Award-Throughout the year, 40 lucky students will be randomly selected to win $2,500 each to help with college expenses. Enter contest at https://scholarship.collegecovered.com/
February 1: National School Plant Management Association Scholarship- Any graduating senior, college freshman, sophomore, or junior is eligible to apply for this scholarship. The total number of scholarship awards is based on the NSPMA Scholarship Trust Funds, and awards are based on the selection criteria (financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service, and essay response). Individual scholarships may range from $500 up to $1,500 depending on the candidate's interest, and evaluation results. An application may be downloaded from here (bottom of page), or picked up outside of the counseling center.
February 1: Governor's Distinguished Scholarship- Students must have a 32 on the ACT or a 1410 on the SAT to qualify. 3.5 GPA is also required. Apply online at scholarships.adhe.edu.
March 8: Delta Kappa Gamma Recruitment Grant-For senior girls that plan to attend college and major in education. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
March 12: American Legion Coudret Trust and Garner Trust Scholarships- Offering 8 scholarships to Arkansans that are children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of American Legionnaries in good standing of two or more consecutive years' membership. Selections are based upon American spirit, character, leadership, quality, scholastic endeavor, and basis of need. For all requirements, pick up a copy of the application outside of the counseling center.
March 28: AAA Centennial Bank Scholar Program- 10 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to senior student athletes who have at least a 3.0 GPA, 21 on the ACT. Applicants must display good citizenship, display desirable leadership traits, participated in other school activities, and meet NCAA Scholarship rules. Applications can be downloaded here, or picked up outside of the counseling center.
April 1: Hope Memorial English Scholarship- A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student that has attended Sheridan High School for at least two years, and has been accepted to the University of Arkansas. Applications can be picked up outside of the counseling center.
Varies: THEA Foundation 2019 Scholarship Competitions- Offering scholarships for students with talent in the areas of visual arts, fashion design, performing arts, spoken word, creative writing, and film. Register online at: www.theafoundation.org.
