Jessica Brown smiles with her award alongside the superintendent

Jessica Brown, K-5 GT Facilitator at Sheridan School's East End campuses, received one of four AGATE (Arkansas for Gifted and Talented Education) Educator Recognition Awards presented on Thursday, March 2, at the organization's 38th annual conference in Little Rock.

Bill Shelly, gifted education specialist at the Arkansas River Cooperative in Pine Bluff, in his nomination cited her infusing technology in her GT classes at East End Intermediate.

Also attending the ceremony were her husband, Rhine Brown; Superintendent Jerrod Williams; Sherri DeSoto, K-5 GT facilitator for the Sheridan campuses; and GT/AP Coordinator Roy Wilson.

"It's always exciting to see one of our teachers recognized," said Superintendent Jerrod Williams. "I am so proud of Mrs. Brown and the amazing impact she has made for her students in East End. We are fortunate to have her in our district."
