Image that says COVID Protocols

SSD Families:

Thank you for all you are doing to help us prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. We can see that the health and safety protocols we’ve implemented this year in our schools are helping.

Our campus Points of Contact who are tracking student/staff cases are seeing very little transmission inside our schools. Most of the students and staff who have reported they are positive for COVID-19 are able to determine where they were exposed to the virus. More times than not, they are contracting the virus from a family member at home or from someone at a small gathering outside of the school setting. This is especially true in our younger grades.

In order to provide the safest environment possible, we ask that our families remain vigilant about COVID-19 safety precautions. If your child is sick, please keep your child at home. If your child has been tested for COVID-19, your child should remain in quarantine pending results of the test.

Also, remember to contact your campus Point of Contact when the following occurs:

  • Someone in the household has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Someone in the household has been identified as a Close Contact to a positive case of COVID-19 and is requiring quarantine and/or recommended to be tested for COVID-19.
  • Your child has been tested for COVID-19 (remain in quarantine pending results of the COVID-19 test).

Please take a moment to review our flow chart regarding the actions we will take if one of our students or staff members tests positive for COVID-19 or is suspected to be positive. This flow chart is based on the requirements and recommendations from the Arkansas Department of Health. View the flow chart HERE.

You can reach our Points of Contact by email (see flow chart) or by calling your school's front office. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Together we can help keep our Sheridan School District family safe, healthy and ready to learn during this school year.
