Beginning Monday, Oct. 23, Google will no longer allow users under 18 to access third-party apps without parental consent where required by law. This will affect the Sheridan School District. Examples of these third-party apps include Clever, Google Classroom, Canvas and Remind.

Parents should be assured that the Sheridan School District will continue to actively review apps for student data privacy compliance. Parents who have questions or would like to opt their student out of using technology-based educational apps, may contact the Director of Educational Technology, Dr. Leann Pinkerton at leannpinkerton@sheridanschools.org or call 870-942-2422.

Parents should understand that opting out could cause their student’s method of classroom instruction to be substantially different than what he/she is accustomed.
