The Sheridan School District has once again been recognized as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase District, earning the distinction for the 2025-26 school year. This marks the third consecutive year the district has received this honor.
In addition, six Sheridan schools have been named Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools®, matching last year’s total. The honored campuses are East End Elementary School, Sheridan Elementary School, East End Intermediate School, Sheridan Intermediate School, East End Middle School, and Sheridan Middle School.
“Earning this distinction for a third consecutive year says a lot about the consistency of our work district-wide,” said Sheridan Superintendent Chad Pitts. “Our campuses aren’t just implementing Capturing Kids’ Hearts – they’re living it out every day in how they support and connect with students. We want our students and staff to know they are valued as people first. This work goes beyond just academics and test scores. It’s about building relationships and making sure every person who walks into our schools feels supported and cared for.”
According to the Capturing Kids’ Hearts organization, National Showcase Schools undergo a rigorous selection process that includes evaluating key performance indicators, collecting campus data, and gathering feedback from both staff and students. The designation reflects successful implementation of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process and highlights campuses that foster safe, connected, and engaging learning environments.
Districts recognized as National Showcase Districts demonstrate a strong commitment to building positive campus cultures where students and staff feel valued and supported.
