It was a big night for Sheridan Transportation at the Arkansas Association of Pupil Transportation (AAPT) banquet on June 17.
Sheridan bus driver Ronnie Comic was recognized as the Arkansas State School Bus Driver of the Year, one of the highest honors in pupil transportation. And Sheridan’s Stephen Fuell received the AAPT Award for Heroism for his quick actions in performing the Heimlich maneuver and helping a student on his bus. Stephen's calm response and dedication to student safety made a life-changing difference.
"We are incredibly proud of both Ronnie and Stephen," said Sheridan transportation coordinator, Dennis Emerson. "Their commitment to our students reflects the professionalism, care, and excellence that define our transportation department."
Their awards were presented by Rhonda Harris, Sheridan's former transportation coordinator, who received the AAPT President's Award, honoring her service as the outgoing president of the AAPT Board.
