Class of 2026 Sheridan graduate Skylar Sterritt has been named the All-Arkansas Preps Overall Female Athlete of the Year for 2026, becoming the first athlete in the history of the award to earn the honor in consecutive years.
A Razorback softball signee, Sterritt capped off her remarkable high school career by earning All-State honors in softball, track and field, and volleyball.
In softball, Sterritt was named both the Gatorade Arkansas Player of the Year and the All-Arkansas Preps Softball Player of the Year. She posted an outstanding .613 batting average while driving in 26 runs and scoring 54. She also hit four home runs and finished the season with a .907 slugging percentage, a .680 on-base percentage, and an impressive 1.587 OPS. Sterritt leaves Sheridan as Arkansas' all-time leader in career stolen bases with 205.
On the track, Sterritt captured Class 5A state championships in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and long jump, while also finishing as the state runner-up in the high jump. Her 100-meter time of 11.67 seconds would have surpassed the Arkansas state record but was ruled wind-aided. Sterritt accounted for 38 of Sheridan’s 51 points at the state meet, helping lead the Lady Yellowjackets to a third-place team finish.
In volleyball, Sterritt continued to excel, recording 122 kills, 115 digs, 21 aces, and a 1.94 service rate during her senior season.
Congratulations to Skylar on earning one final high school honor and on an extraordinary athletic career at Sheridan High School. We wish her continued success as she begins her collegiate career with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
