East End Middle School and Sheridan Middle School have earned 2026 Arkansas Gem School designations from the Arkansas Department of Education for student academic growth.

East End Middle School was recognized for growth in English language arts and science. Sheridan Middle School was recognized for growth in English language arts. Growth by Content Area designations recognize schools that rank in the top 10% statewide within their grade span for student growth in a specific subject.

“These recognitions reflect the work our students and educators put in every day,” said Sheridan School District Superintendent Chad Pitts. “We are proud of both schools and grateful to the families who partner with us to support student learning.”

Arkansas Gem School designations are based on data used in the state’s annual school rating formula. Schools may earn more than one designation in the same year.
