The Sheridan School District is excited to announce our virtual school option – Jacket Academy!
While we believe that the most effective learning environment for most students is in the classroom where they can engage directly with teachers and peers each day, we also recognize that there are circumstances where a virtual learning option can be beneficial for some students and families.
For many families, Jacket Academy offers the best of both worlds: the flexibility of school from home combined with the opportunities, experiences, and diploma of a Sheridan education. Students can complete their coursework remotely while being official Sheridan School District students.
For high school students, those benefits are especially significant. As Sheridan students enrolled through Jacket Academy, students may:
• Participate in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs on campus and at the Saline County Career Technical Campus
• Attend school events such as prom, assemblies, and student activities
• Participate in extracurricular programs and athletics (as eligibility allows)
• Walk at graduation and earn a Sheridan High School diploma
In addition, students receive instruction aligned to Arkansas standards, support from certified teachers, and access to district resources – all while learning from home.
