Big thanks to our Dining Services Department for making sure our students have meals to eat while we are out of school due to the inclement weather! Here they are passing out meals to students before the students went home today! #makeitcount #yjnation

SSD Families: Due to inclement weather in the forecast, all Sheridan School District campuses will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 11, 2021. Students will pivot to virtual learning and access their assignments through Canvas. If you have a power outage or don't have internet access, just contact your teacher through email or Canvas when you are able. Our teachers will allow time for your student to make up the work. Please stay safe!

SSD Families:
There is a potential for inclement weather in the forecast for tomorrow. If in-person instruction is canceled due to weather conditions, we will notify you as soon as the decision is made. We will send you a text message, post it on our website and social media, and we’ll notify our local news stations. If onsite classes are canceled, we will pivot to virtual work on Canvas.
As a precautionary measure, we will be sending home frozen weekend meals with students today instead of tomorrow. These free meals will go home with students who have already signed up to receive them each week. Please understand this does not mean we are canceling school tomorrow. We have not yet made that decision. We just want to be sure these students have food to eat over the weekend in the event we must cancel.

Reminder for SSD Families:
Feb 15
We will have EARLY DISMISSAL at 1:30 PM on Feb 15 for all students. P/T Conferences will be held virtually for Grades 6 - 12. For the high school, this time will incorporate CAPS conferences as well.
Feb 22
We will also have EARLY DISMISSAL at 1:30 PM on Feb 22 for all students. P/T Conferences will be held virtually for Grades PK - 5.

Yesterday, Sheridan High School was one of 1,119 schools to receive the College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award. Recipients of this award have achieved high female representation in #APCSP and/or #APCSA at their school, helping close the gender gap in the field of computer science. http://spr.ly/6181HbKZ9 #YJNation #makeitcount Photo 1: KARK interviews computer science students in April of 2019 about the app they developed called the Arkansas College Calculator.
