SSD Dining Services and volunteers from local churches are working together to ensure all children in the community have healthy meals to eat over Thanksgiving Break. Today they boxed up more than 13,000 meals that will serve 960 children. Families who signed up to receive free meals from SSD will receive a box with seven breakfasts and seven lunches for each child living in the home. Each box includes a traditional Thanksgiving meal for the holiday. Meals will be delivered to families on Nov. 23. We are thankful for the volunteers from our local churches who are helping to make this possible!

SSD Families: As cases in Arkansas rise and you decide how you will celebrate the holidays, the ADH strongly encourages you to take precautions to protect yourself, your loved ones and others from the spread of COVID-19. Please consider the Thanksgiving recommendations at https://bit.ly/3kJxZdh. After the break, we want our students and staff to come back to the safest environment possible. If someone in your household tests positive for Covid-19 or has been in direct contact with a positive case, we ask that you email your child’s campus at the addresses below so we can continue contact tracing throughout the break.

Mrs. Burnett's AP Environmental Science class learned how to "hand texture" soil samples collected from sites spanning from Grant Co to Colorado. Students conducted a variety of hands-on tests to determine how much clay, silt, and sand were in each sample. #MakeItCount
