$1000 Fall 2020 scholarship from Arkansas Tech. Seniors can register for the chance to compete
in a halftime competition where the winner will get a $1000 scholarship to ATU. Just look for
the ATU booth near the stadium entrance to register. Go Jackets!
We were informed of a general awareness statement from the Little Rock FBI regarding an unsubstantiated rumor. They received a report that a possible school shooting would occur in Arkansas on August 29, 2019. The threat is not specific to any school in Arkansas.
Although this threat is unsubstantiated, we wanted to make sure you are aware of the situation and that we treat all threats as if they are serious. The Sheridan School District will continue to monitor the situation and will work closely with our local law enforcement to take appropriate security precautions. The safety of our students and staff is and will continue to be our number one priority.

David Kohler and other members of Kohler corporate leadership toured Kohler Academy at our high school today. Kohler Academy features equipment actually used in Kohler manufacturing facilities and will prepare students for careers in engineering and advanced manufacturing. East End Middle School Teacher Olivia Lewis was elected president of the Arkansas Council for the Social Studies during the organization’s state conference this week. We are proud of Olivia and the work she does to promote, improve, and advocate for social studies education in Arkansas!
SHS parking tags ($10) for the 2019-20 school year are for sale now in the SHS office. Students will need a valid drivers license and current registration for the vehicle they will be driving.
Please see statement below from Nabholz regarding the fire at the Sheridan Middle School construction site this morning. We are grateful for our local first responders and that there were no injuries.
Nabholz Statement: This morning, there was a fire at Sheridan Middle School. Thankfully, this building was in the process of being demolished, so the fire will have no impact on the current construction schedule or overall plan for the campus.
Most importantly, there were no injuries, and there is no risk to the construction workers or public. The fire was quickly contained, and construction activities will continue as planned. Thank you to all the first responders who arrived and helped extinguish the fire!
Our new CNC machine arrived today at the high school! The CNC machine will be used in our Kohler Academy, which will prepare students for careers in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.
