Mrs. Stoops 1st graders at EEE went on a GHOST HUNT today, but these ghosts were hiding something special… LONG A WORDS!
Students searched for hidden pictures representing the long A words they’ve been learning this week. Once they found them, they put their GHOST SPELLING skills to work by writing the words!
Who knew phonics could be so BOO-tiful?! We love seeing our little YellowJackets learning, moving, and having FUN while building their reading and spelling skills!

EEE kicked off our week with some excitement as our students enjoyed a special presentation about the fire truck! 🚒 Our Yellowjackets loved learning about the important work our firefighters do to keep our community safe! A HUGE thank you to our firefighters for taking the time to visit and share with our students!
We also came together for our monthly Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) Celebration, where we recognized our Heart of a Yellowjacket Students of the Month and celebrated students who earned Positive Office Referrals!
We LOVE celebrating our students who lead with responsibility, make positive choices, and show what it truly means to have the HEART of a Yellowjacket!
What a wonderful way to start the week....learning, celebrating, and recognizing the AMAZING things happening at EEE!

But behind all the fun is some BIG learning! When students take time to read independently, they are building fluency, strengthening comprehension, expanding vocabulary, and growing their confidence as readers. Every minute spent reading is an opportunity to become a stronger reader!

2nd Grade Math Success At East End Elementary
Our 2nd grade teachers and students have been working HARD to strengthen their addition and subtraction skills within 100! Through intentional instruction, hands-on learning, and lots of practice, our students are building confidence and becoming stronger mathematicians every day!
The results are in! On their most recent assessment, 72% of our 2nd graders scored proficient on this essential math standard.
What a way to wrap up the FIRST QUARTER! We are so proud of our teachers for their dedication to high-quality instruction and our students for their hard work and determination!

Tuesday was a BIG day at EEE! We celebrated our amazing staff and students on the 45th day of school in honor of our incredible 45 POINTS OF GROWTH on last year's end-of-year state testing!
Our hardworking staff enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch to celebrate a Slice of Success!
Our students celebrated with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, popsicles, and lots of outside FUN!
This growth didn't happen by accident! It is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our teachers, staff, and students. We are SO proud of how far we've come, but we're not stopping here!

Our 1st grade teachers and students are doing amazing work in phonics! Our students have been working hard to decode one-syllable words with consonant clusters and predictable vowel patterns, and their hard work is paying off!
On a recent assessment, 63% of our 1st graders demonstrated proficiency!
We are so proud of the intentional instruction happening in our classrooms and the growth our students are showing. Way to go, 1st grade teachers and students! Keep building those strong reading foundations one word at a time!
