Sheridan High School recently received a $2,000 donation from Georgia-Pacific to go toward the school’s various STEM programs. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics and refers to any subjects that fall under these four disciplines.

“Georgia-Pacific knows strong communities make life better for everyone: our employees, neighbors and customers,” said Chris Morton, plant manager of Georgia-Pacific’s Fordyce OSB manufacturing site. “Supporting students and their education is essential to the sustainability of our communities, and Georgia-Pacific is proud to support the technological advances being made at Sheridan through their robotics and STEM programs.”

“We are so fortunate at Sheridan High School to have such a positive relationship with partners such as Georgia-Pacific,” said Dr. Blaine Alexander, principal at Sheridan High School. “Because of their generosity, we are able to provide opportunities for our students that may not be possible without their support. Our STEM program will benefit in so many ways. We are so thankful for their kindness and support.”
