With the possibility of winter weather approaching, this is a reminder that the Sheridan School District has some updated inclement weather policy/procedures this year. If inclement weather causes the school to be closed anytime this winter, it will be a traditional snow day – not an AMI day. Due to recent changes in Arkansas law, public schools are no longer allowed to use AMI days to count toward their required days/hours of instruction.
As always, our District will monitor forecasts and road conditions and try to make any potential school closing/delay decisions as soon as possible to keep our students and staff safe.
If school campuses are closed or opening is delayed, parents and staff will be notified by text, and the information will be posted on the school web site, mobile app, social media and provided to news outlets.
