Reminder for SSD Families: Friday, April 2 will be a VIRTUAL SCHOOL DAY for all students. Campuses will be closed to onsite instruction. Students will access assignments on Canvas. This day was originally planned as a No School Day (Make-Up Day) but was converted to a Virtual Day before school started when the governor delayed the first day of school.

Save the date for our next YELLOWJACKET BAND CONCERT which will be held May 1 at the Yellowjacket Arena. Ticket and reservation information will be available at a later date. #MakeItCount #YJNation

With help from the Grant Co. Ministerial Alliance, Grace Church in East End, and the Lady Jacket Softball Team, our Dining Services Department packed and distributed 850 boxes of food to children in our community so they would have enough food to eat during Spring Break! Thanks to everyone who helped feed our children today! #YJNation #makeitcount #lovemytown

Mrs. Summit’s students delivered goodie bags for staff and cards for residents at the Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Her students were so excited! They kept talking about how great it felt to do for others!

Congratulations to our junior students who were accepted into Arkansas Governor's School this year! AGS is a four-week residential summer program held July 5 through August 1 at Arkansas Tech University. It aims to challenge highly motivated, creative students through an intellectual atmosphere that moves above and beyond the typical school experience. Students were selected from applicants all over the state after completing an extensive application process. We are excited for them to represent SHS through their extended studies this summer!

We are so excited to share these renderings of the McKenzie Auditorium Remodel!!! We expect to begin construction over the summer and anticipate completing the project this winter! #YJNation #MakeItCount #FineArts

We are so proud of Zachary Sproles, a 2nd grade virtual student in Mrs. Bibb's class, who did an amazing job on his "Pop-Bottle" replica of Benjamin Franklin! For this project he also read a biography about Benjamin Franklin and wrote a report. #YJNation #virtuallearning
