Congratulations to the Sheridan High School Quiz Bowl team, which made it to the Class 6A finals, finishing runner-up to Russellville. Additional congratulations to Sheridan's Avery Williams, who was named Arkansas Governor's Quiz Bowl Association Overall Finals MVP. Great job, Jackets!
East End Elementary held its Kindergarten Round-up event on Monday. The event was for all children in the community who will be age 5 on or before August 1 and their parents. It included free hot dogs and drinks, shirts and books. Jacket Health & Wellness had an information table, and there were tours of the school.
Sheridan Elementary School will host a similar event from 5-6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5.

Today's Yellowjacket softball and baseball games against White Hall -- along with Senior Night activities -- have been postponed due to weather. The softball game will be played Monday, and the baseball game is tentatively scheduled for Monday. (The baseball game is still subject to date change.)

School Lunch Hero Day gives us an extra opportunity to say THANK YOU to those serving our students every day.
Please join the Sheridan High School Choirs on Thursday, May 1 at 6:00 p.m. in McKenzie Hall Auditorium for their Spring Concert, "A Journey Through the Hits." The SHS Concert, Treble and Chamber choirs will perform songs from the '70s and '80s originally performed by artists like Bon Jovi, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, ABBA and several others. Join us for this fun and upbeat concert as we celebrate some of the most memorable classic rock songs.
Softball Senior Night activities tomorrow will begin at 4:00 p.m, followed by the Lady Jackets taking on the White Hall Bulldogs for the conference championship at 5 :00 p.m. Any youth or travel softball players can get into the game for free if they wear their team's jersey. Come support your Lady Jackets as they fight for the championship! GO YELLOWJACKETS!

The Sheridan Middle School Choir will have their Spring Concert on Tuesday, April 29 at 6 p.m. at McKenzie Hall auditorium. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
The Sheridan School District announced its building-level "Teacher of the Year" yesterday for each of the district's eight campuses. Winners were selected by their peers. The announcements were made on each campus and included district and building administrators surprising the teachers in their classrooms. (EEI’s Teacher of the Year Tina Potter was unable to be at the presentation and will be honored in person at first opportunity.) Photos include the winners, building administrators and Sheridan Superintendent Chad Pitts. All campus winners will also be honored at the May school board meeting, and a district-wide Teacher of the Year will be selected from among this group.
