EEM - Mrs. Lewis's class learned about the electoral college process before election day Nov. 3rd. After reviewing past electoral college maps and learning about "safe states" and "swing states," students guessed for the 2020 election! I wonder if they will get it right?

EEM 7th grade families - As shared with students, the late work policy for 7th grade is as follows: To earn full credit, assignments are due a week (7 days) from the day the assignment is posted. After the due date students will receive a 10% deduction for each day it is late. If you have individual questions or concerns specific to your child, please reach out to the 7th grade team.

EEM - Proud of our work - join us in celebrating! Ms. McCaslin's Jacket Time - House of Cognos was a two time winner in the Door Decorating Contest for Red Ribbon Week. We won 1st place in the EEM Student's Choice & 3rd Place in the school-wide competition.

EEM 8th grade families: As shared with students (effective Oct. 1) to ensure a great 2nd quarter, this is the late work policy for 8th grade:
Students lose 5% of the total points everyday an assignment is late. After 2 weeks, the assignment is closed and earns 0%. If you have individual questions or concerns specific to your child, please reach out to the 8th grade team.

EEM - 6th grade parents, as discussed with students this week and to ensure a great 2nd quarter - this is the late work policy for 6th grade: Students have two (2) full weeks (14 days) to complete and submit assignments - without penalty, from the original date the assignments are given. Once the 14 day window is closed, it will not be re-opened. Incomplete or unsubmitted assignments will be recorded as zeroes. If you have individual questions or concerns specific to your child, please reach out to the 6th grade team.

EEM - One exciting room during 1st Quarter Reward Day was the ”chill room” hosted by Ms. Pitts. Students had a mini Cosplay day and an opportunity to unwind. Special THANK YOU to Kona Ice and our community - thanks to Pay it Forward, students enjoyed a delicious treat.


EEM - Check out our all female morning announcements crew! Smart and fashionistas - perfectly coordinated for Red Ribbon Week. They will have a bright future in broadcasting (or whatever they choose to do).



EEM - 1st Quarter Report Cards and pre-ordered pictures were distributed to students today during Jacket Time. Virtual Families: Please come by the office (7:30 - 3:30 p.m.) to pick up report cards and pictures - any not picked up by Friday at noon will be mailed. Make-up fall picture day is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1.

EEM - Vision exams are required for all our students, we are partnering with the Lions Club to conduct these screenings in 6.25 seconds (vs. 5-10 minutes) - at NO COST to families or EEM. EEM - We are gearing up for an exciting Red Ribbon Week at EEM! We start tomorrow with “Give drugs the boot” wear your favorite pair of boots and end Thursday with 1st quarter reward day, including Kona Ice! Students will be able to purchase a Kona for $3. Students may bring $3 cash on Thursday or you may prepay online (preferred). There is also a pay it forward option if you would like to donate! EEM - Ms. Walker's Jackettime proudly displays their Red Ribbon Week door showing that they will "Take Heart, Be Happy, and Don't Do Drugs". Next week, guest judges will select their favorite door. Red Ribbon Week is October 26th - 30th.

EEM-Be Pro Be Proud is an initiative to introduce students to technical professions in manufacturing, construction, transportation, and utility in Arkansas. 8th graders from the fall Career Development classes were able to tour the truck Friday, October 16.

EEM - Mrs. Threet's reading classes met virtually with their literature circles to discuss their class novel "Wonder". Students were so excited to safely meet with all classmates to share their different roles and perspectives, and they can't wait to meet again!
