Marissa Nevens, 10th grade student at SHS, participated in the FCCLA Teach and Train program with Mrs. Allen's kindergarten class.
From Mrs. Allen:
Marissa did a fabulous job planning, teaching and guiding students during a lesson geared toward teaching story elements. The students listened to a read aloud, drew each a character, setting, and event in the story for individual work.
Divided in 3 small groups, students were able to build oral language by planning and acting out each the beginning, middle, and end of story. Thank you to our district for building a team across grade levels and buildings for both older and younger students to learn.

SES 2nd grader, Blythe Marsh, set a big goal over Christmas break to read 100 books! Goal Accomplished!!! #RISEArkansas #lovelearngrow #yjnation

SES 1st and 2nd grade students have been working with Mrs. Allen, the library media specialist, on habitat research. The students presented their final projects to kindergarten classes. #yjnation
