Mrs. Scott's 7th- and 8th-grade drama students at Sheridan Middle School will be performing selected scenes at their Drama Showcase event on Monday, Dec. 12, at McKenzie Auditorium. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
Congratulations to the Sheridan Middle School 7th/8th grade quiz bowl team. They came in third place in the regional 7-9 grade quiz bowl tournament. We would like to spotlight seventh-grader Kohl Wyatt. He played on the 9th grade team because one of their members was sick that day. The 9th grade team won 2nd place.
SMS Families: National Junior Honor Society is leading the way from Dec 5-14 with our annual CANNED FOOD DRIVE to ensure all our local families have food during the break. We will have a friendly competition among grade levels, and the winner will get extra time out of class! Let's do some good!

On Monday, Dec. 5 the SHS choir will be joined in concert by the joint Sheridan/East End Middle School choirs in a performance beginning at 6 p.m. The SMS/EEM choir will sing first followed by the SHS varsity, treble and chamber choirs. The event will be held at McKenzie Hall auditorium on the Sheridan High School campus.
Congratulations to Yellowjacket seniors Jarrett Atchley, Brady Ingram and Blane Shumate for recognition of their accomplishments this football season. Atchley was named all-state in Class 6A, and Ingram and Shumate both received 6A-East all-conference honors.

Congratulations to our 2022 SMS Spelling Bee winners and qualifiers for the Grant County Bee. The SMS spelling champion was Sophie Brown. Armon Adams placed second and Lily Baker placed third in the bee. Also qualifying for the Grant County Spelling Bee are Madison Andrews, Loren Bell, Jaren Bowling, Braden Bridges, Morgan Burton, Jackson Clement, Colton Crosswhite, Brooke Hollinger, Jamie Miller, Thiago Ramos, Kylie Speights & Kinsey Swift.
SMS is lucky to have so many students who are great spellers. We had our biggest SMS Spelling Bee ever with over 70 contestants. The competition was fierce! Congratulations to all of you!

This past weekend 16 SMS Theatre students competed in the AR Blue Junior Thespian Festival in Searcy. SMS troupe members celebrated theatre with 200 hundred other theatre students. Sheridan troupe 89623 received Excellent in the following events :

SMS Caring & Sharing would like to thank all of our students and staff for their help & donations for Angel Tree. We all had a great time last week and raised $2,757.96 for our angels!
