Mrs. Hardin's class enjoyed having Mrs. McConkie (Mrs. Hardin's former 6th-grade teacher) come speak to them about the art and history behind Labor Day. They learned about a painting called "Builders" by Jacob Lawrence, sang and danced to a song about railroad workers, and created their own masterpieces using Jacob Lawrence's trichromatic method. She sparked some amazing creativity!

Last week at East End Intermediate, Mrs. Hardin’s 3rd-grade class used the game 2 Truths and a Fib to review what they've learned about fiction and informational texts. Students worked in groups to give characteristics of each and had the class guess the “fib” for their type of text.

Fourth-grade students in Mrs. Potter's class read Math Curse and discussed ways that they use math every day. Some of them were really surprised at how much math they actually use or think about each day!
