
Mrs. Teague's 7th grade science classes finished the year with a unit on Chemical Reactions. Their last lab of the year was 5 mini experiments in which they made observations to determine if the experiment was an example of a physical or chemical reaction. They also measured the initial mass and final mass to see the Law of Conservation of Mass in action!





Tomorrow will be a fun day full of activities! Please keep backpacks at home and remind your child to bring $3 for Kona ice and a refillable water bottle. Yearbooks will also be sold ($35).

Students in Mrs. Williams's class moved through stations collaborating on concepts learned through the semester. This process allows them to review and clear up misconceptions with each other rather than the teacher. Peer lead teaching at its best. #EEMCommunityOfLearners





EEM - Bringing science to life! Last week, Mrs. Vance's class learned about the Respiratory System. They created lungs out of paper bags and straws. Learning about how the lungs work: breathing in oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide. What a fun way to learn about the lungs!





EEM - Mrs. Goode's English classes used their knowledge of Greek and Latin roots to decode multisyllabic terms in a Vocabulary War. Learning together to bolster our vocabulary. #EEMCommunityOfLearners

Virtual families, semester exams are required for all learners. While the exams are not weighted, the grade is calculated into the 4th quarter and semester grade. 6th grade families: Message from Mr. Coach Stokes, "For incoming 7th graders, Summer Football Practices will begin July 12th from 7 am to 9 am at SMS. There will be an East End Pickup at EEM at 6:15 a.m.. Drop off at 9:45 a.m.. Practice will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

EEM-Yesterday, Ms. Walker's 8th grade Career Development and Life Skills classes attended a Virtual Reality Fair by Diamond Lakes Credit Union. They learned how difficult it can be to stay on budget for your household. Teaching lifelong skills for economic independence!

EEM - Boys Basketball Tryouts are as follows: incoming 7th grade (May 11, today), incoming 8th grade (May 12), and incoming 9th Grade (May 13) from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m at the SHS Arena. Students may ride the athletic shuttle each day (2:00 p.m.) or be transported by a parent. Students needing shuttle transportation will be responsible for completing 7th period assignments (all shuttles have integrated wi-fi access). Students may be picked up at the SHS Arena at 5:00 p.m. or ride the 5:30 athletic shuttle and be picked up at EEM at approximately 5:50 p.m. Shuttle transportation will also be provided for: 1] Girls Basketball tryouts are May 25 (incoming 7th grade) and May 26th (incoming 8th and 9th grade). 2] Volleyball tryouts are May 17 (incoming 7th grade), May 18 (incoming 7th 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. and incoming 8th 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.), and May 20 (incoming 8th and 9th grade).

Happy Mother's Day to all our EEM moms! Make-up testing for NWEA is this week. Virtual learners may makeup all tests Friday (May 14) or join us for on-site makeup testing as follows: Monday = Reading, Tuesday = Math, Wednesday = Science, and Thursday as needed. Testing will begin promptly at 8:15 each day. Let's help our learners continue to grow academically by reminding them to read 30 minutes every day and keeping up with daily assignments.

EEM - Student's in Mrs. Williams's 8th grade science classes are sorting stages of embryos to find patterns within the development. They are discovering how embryological patterns help make conclusions about our Earth's history. Preparing them for future science research!





Students in Mrs.Goode's English classes have been working for the last two weeks on their final Literacy Fair Projects. Each student completed a project about an independent novel that he or she read this year. Volunteer judges chose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as two honorable mentions. The winners are as follows: Madi Hooks Honorable Mention, McKenzie Harris Honorable Mention, Jadyn Warrick 3rd Place, Peyton Denney 2nd Place, and Anthony DePriest 1st Place Winner of EEM's 6th Grade Literacy Fair!

Students practiced their inferencing skills by becoming detectives studying context clues to determine the criminal who ruined the fair. Ms. Pitts thinks the FBI might want to recruit a few students after today!
