EEM Families: As part of a coordinated response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Arkansas Department of Education in partnership with the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas has developed a Parent/Guardian Survey to gather input from families throughout the state on what is working now and what may be considered for the future in education as it relates to the pandemic.

EEM - Mrs. Lewis's class learned about the electoral college process before election day Nov. 3rd. After reviewing past electoral college maps and learning about "safe states" and "swing states," students guessed for the 2020 election! I wonder if they will get it right?
EEM 7th grade families - As shared with students, the late work policy for 7th grade is as follows: To earn full credit, assignments are due a week (7 days) from the day the assignment is posted. After the due date students will receive a 10% deduction for each day it is late. If you have individual questions or concerns specific to your child, please reach out to the 7th grade team.
EEM - Proud of our work - join us in celebrating! Ms. McCaslin's Jacket Time - House of Cognos was a two time winner in the Door Decorating Contest for Red Ribbon Week. We won 1st place in the EEM Student's Choice & 3rd Place in the school-wide competition.
EEM 8th grade families: As shared with students (effective Oct. 1) to ensure a great 2nd quarter, this is the late work policy for 8th grade:
Students lose 5% of the total points everyday an assignment is late. After 2 weeks, the assignment is closed and earns 0%. If you have individual questions or concerns specific to your child, please reach out to the 8th grade team.

EEM - 6th grade parents, as discussed with students this week and to ensure a great 2nd quarter - this is the late work policy for 6th grade: Students have two (2) full weeks (14 days) to complete and submit assignments - without penalty, from the original date the assignments are given. Once the 14 day window is closed, it will not be re-opened. Incomplete or unsubmitted assignments will be recorded as zeroes. If you have individual questions or concerns specific to your child, please reach out to the 6th grade team.
EEM - One exciting room during 1st Quarter Reward Day was the ”chill room” hosted by Ms. Pitts. Students had a mini Cosplay day and an opportunity to unwind. Special THANK YOU to Kona Ice and our community - thanks to Pay it Forward, students enjoyed a delicious treat.

EEM - 1st Quarter Report Cards and pre-ordered pictures were distributed to students today during Jacket Time. Virtual Families: Please come by the office (7:30 - 3:30 p.m.) to pick up report cards and pictures - any not picked up by Friday at noon will be mailed. Make-up fall picture day is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1.

EEM - Vision exams are required for all our students, we are partnering with the Lions Club to conduct these screenings in 6.25 seconds (vs. 5-10 minutes) - at NO COST to families or EEM.
