The 7th-grade accelerated science students had a guest speaker, Mrs. Laura DePriest, who spoke with us about the genetics of Parakeets. Students determined the genotypes of the parent parakeets based on the visible phenotypes. Then students made predictions (as well as calculated the ratio and percentages of probability for different genotypes) as to what their offspring looked like. Thank you Mrs. Laura DePriest for sharing your knowledge with us!

2nd semester Physical Education students at East End Middle School are on Health Unit 2, which covers the effects of alcohol while driving under the influence. The essential standard is that students will investigate healthy and unhealthy behaviors related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs while understanding the physical, psychological, and legal consequences for self and others. Students in the pictures volunteered in a field sobriety test with the Fatal Vision Goggles. Thank you to Officer Berry for his help!!!
