February was a BIG month for SHS Choir!
On February 26, our SHS Treble and Chamber Choirs performed at the Region 3 CPA at Lakeside High School. Both groups delivered outstanding performances!
✨ Treble Choir – Excellent Rating
✨ Chamber Choir – Superior Rating
Both choirs have qualified to compete at the State Festival at UCA on April 16—congratulations!
On February 28, 12 SHS choir students competed in the Region 3 Solo & Ensemble Contest—the program’s first time participating in several years!
9 students earned Superior ratings and qualified for State (April 18 in Conway). The students are:
Jenna Grundmann, Violet Tripp, Aden Bartlett, Carter Lowery, George Lachowsky, Allie Smith, Brynlee Guy, Brianna Rasdon, and Joshua Darbonne
3 students earned Excellent ratings. The students are:
Liberty Washausen, Kaylin Witty, and Maia Taylor
We are proud of the growth, dedication, and talent of our SHS Choir students. Under the direction of Jeremy Wayne, the program continues to build a strong, inclusive community while striving for excellence in music.

Yesterday, our teachers were treated to a biscuit bar, complete with delicious biscuits, gravy, and homemade jellies. As an extra special treat, teachers also enjoyed gourmet coffee—hot or cold!

SHS JAG students attended the Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day at Pulaski Tech in North Little Rock, where they had the opportunity to network with trade companies and training providers while exploring future career opportunities.
Introduction to Healthcare students in Mrs. Evans’s Level 1 CTE classes participated in a simulated mass casualty event, where they practiced thinking quickly, providing care, and completing patient injury assessments.
A special thank you to Ms. Moen and the SHS Theatre Department for providing the “victims” and creating realistic makeup effects that helped bring the simulation to life.

Mrs. Norris and Ms. Kimbrell recently took several SHS students to tour the Easter Seals campuses. The Easter Seals Center for Training & Wellness is a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities where participants can build friendships, learn new skills, obtain employment, and lead full, active lives. This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about options and resources available after high school! 💛💙

SHS students, guided by their instructor, Mrs. Tiffany Evans, are learning valuable CPR skills in their Level 1 Intro to Health Care course. This marks the first year the course has been offered at SHS.
The 2026–2027 school year will be an exciting one as we expand our offerings to include Level 2 classes. Eventually, students will have the opportunity to complete the full Sports Medicine pathway at SHS.

This year at the HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Spring Leadership Conference, 10 SHS students attended and competed in a variety of events.
On Monday, each member competed in their designated category and attended a breakout session of their choice. Sheridan’s voting delegates, Cheyenne James and Olivia Vaughan, participated in the roundtable session where candidates answered questions, delivered speeches, and campaigned for positions. Afterward, delegates voted to select six new individuals to serve on the Arkansas HOSA State Officer Team.
On Tuesday, we returned to learn the results of the competitions and elections.

Congratulations to SHS Senior Aden Bartlett who recently represented SHS at the Arkansas Choral Directors Association (ArkCDA) All-State Choir Festival, held February 19–21 in Hot Springs.
His journey began in October, when he competed against more than 5,300 students statewide to earn a spot in the All-Region Choir. Following a standout performance at the Region 3 clinic in November, Aden’s high ranking qualified him to audition for the All-State choir. Out of thousands of initial applicants, he was one of only 360 students selected—a prestigious honor representing the finest choral voices in Arkansas.
After two days of intensive rehearsals with the Tenor/Bass All-State Choir, Aden performed in a final concert on Saturday that earned multiple standing ovations.
